  • when delivered, track engagement (+ Click Track)…
  • and if the recipient doesn’t respond in 3 hours after delivery, get notified (+ Reply Timeout)!

If you have installed mxHero on your Chrome browser but do not see the orange mxHero button next to the Gmail send button, please try clicking in the compose window or refreshing your browser.

Total Track

Be notified when your recipient interacts with your email. Any click on a URL or attachment access will send a notification detailing the recipient and specific URL or file accessed.

If the recipient “shows images” for the sender’s email, the sender will be notified that the email was opened.

Additional details:

  • One notification is sent for each recipient and URL or file that is accessed.
  • The sender can cancel notifications at any time.
  • URLs need to have been explicitly added to the email at the time the email was composed. If text is transformed into a URL by the recipients email client, that URL will not be tracked by Click Track.

Usage case: Bob sends a sales proposal to a prospect using Attachment Track. When the prospect accesses the proposal, Bob is informed and can better time his follow up.

Private Delivery

Send email addressed to multiple recipients, but have it delivered to each as though sent individually.

Usage case: email addressed to john@dom.com and jane@dom.org will be delivered to john@dom.com with only john@dom.com on the address lines and will not show jane@dom.org. Similarly, jane@dom.com will receive the email with only jane@dom.org.

This capability avoids the need to address email to oneself and Bcc all the recipients – which clearly shows your recipients that they are one of many.

Reply Timeout

Be notified when recipients on the To line do not respond in the time selected.

This capability does not apply to recipients in Carbon Copy or Blind Carbon Copy, only to recipients on the To line.

Usage case: John send a time sensitive email to Max and sets a Reply Timeout for 3 hours. If Max does not respond to John in 3 hours, John receives a notification that Max’s response was not received in the time indicated.

Mobile subject line hash tag: #reply??

?? to be substituted with one of the following:

Xh, where X is the number of hours, ex. 6h for in six hours.
Xd, where X is the number of days, ex. 5d for in five days.
m/d, where m is month and d is day, ex. 3/15 for the 15th of March.

More examples:
#reply – 24 hour reply timeout (default)
#reply2h – two hour reply timeout
#reply3/15 – reply timeout on the 15th of March

Self Destruct

Send self-destructing email that can not be stored by your recipients.

When selecting this app before sending, your email will be delivered as a Self Destructing email. Five minutes after your recipient opens the message, it will be destroyed. If your recipient attempts to open the email later or forward to someone else, the content will not be available.

How does it work

After sending, your original message is transformed into an image and kept temporarily at mxHero’s Gmail system. A link to that image replaces the original message in your email. When the recipient views that image, 5 minutes later, the image is irretrievably destroyed.

Additional details:

  • Your original message will be stored normally in your outbox.
  • Your message will not be stored on your recipients email system.
  • The message that your recipient receives will be irretrievably destroyed 5 minutes after being opened.
  • You will receive a notification when your recipient opens your message.

The intent of Self Destruct is to protect your communication from third parties that might access your recipient’s email service. It is assumed you trust your recipient. Your recipient will be able to make a screenshot, take a picture or otherwise write down your email content. What you might not trust is the safety of their email from third party access.

Usage case: You send credit card information to a hotel. You want them to get the information, but you don’t want to leave that information in their email system for the next 3 years.

Send Later

Schedule email delivery date and time.

Send Later allows you to compose an email and have it delivered at the date and time of your choosing. By controlling your message delivery you have the convenience of composing an email when convenient and having it automatically sent at the most appropriate time.

Additional details:

  • Once an email is sent with Send Later it will be delivered at the schedule time even if you are off line.
  • For each recipient you will receive a scheduled delivery notification which includes a cancel delivery link.

Usage case: John needs to send a client an important email. But it is Friday night and he does not want to send it now since it will be buried in the client’s Monday morning email. John send the message with Send Later set to Monday, 11am delivery.

Mobile subject line hash tag: #send??

?? to be substituted with one of the following:

Xh, where X is the number of hours, ex. 6h for in six hours.
Xd, where X is the number of days, ex. 5d for in five days.
m/d, where m is month and d is day, ex. 3/15 for the 15th of March.

add “@” to set a specific time.

More examples:
#send@1:00pm – send at 1pm today
#send3/15@2:30pm – send on the 15th of March at 2:30pm

Remind Later

Take messages out of the Inbox and return them at a later time.

Remind Later works on received messages. By clicking on the mxHero button that appears above the message viewing area, the user can have the message removed from the Inbox and returned at another time.

Usage case: Jane receives an important email that she would like to revisit later in the day. Using mxHero, she schedules that message to be redelivered in 3 hours.
